On Countless Screaming Argonauts, the podcast of record, Maqz and I had a discussion about the word “retarded”. We were responding to the Rahm Emanuel, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh dust up. You remember it right? Emanuel made a very coarse comment in a private meeting that got reported by the press. Sarah made some pithy comments about the term, calling for him to resign. Then Rush added his two cents (more like 20 dollars worth) in a 10 minute rant on the radio about all this “political correctness” and used the term in a derogatory fashion at least 25 times. Sarah, dear Sarah was called to offer the same criticism of Rush but chose instead to leave the bashing in a left wing direction and ignore the beast master.

I said that I thought originally Sarah, dear Sarah, was correct in taking issue with Emmanuel (not in asking him to resign.) However she then dropped the ball with the beast master. I almost had some respect for her but quickly lost it as she showed she was not concerned with the word, but rather looking to leftist bash. Too bad she didn’t write “stand by my principles” on the palm of her hand, maybe she would have remembered that!.
